Race Day

SATURDAY IS NOT A CLOSING CEREMONY. IT’S A RACE.

Most camps end with a certificate.

Ours ends with a race.

Every kid runs the same workout. Timed. On the clock. Music playing. Parents watching from the turf.

When they cross the finish line, their name gets called. They get their Iron Fit patch handed to them at the line. Then they walk to the Iron Fit banner for the photo.

That’s the moment they’ll remember. That’s the moment that changes how they see themselves.

The Difference

Why Iron Fit.

COACHING

Coached by Erik Guerra + a real team.

Owner. Head coach. 18 years in strength & conditioning. Two experienced assistants on the floor with him — 8:1 coaching ratio.

APPROACH

Real coaching, not recess.

Your kid doesn’t need to play a sport. They don’t need to be “athletic.” They just need to show up. We coach every kid — the athlete, the gamer, the one who’s never touched a weight — through real strength, conditioning, speed, and agility work. Every kid leaves stronger.

AGE GROUP

Built for the 11–14 age group.

The years where kids either build habits that last or drift into their phones. This week is a turning point.

Coach Erik

18 years. Thousands of kids and adults coached.

Erik Guerra has been coaching strength & conditioning since 2008. He owns Iron Fit in San Antonio and coaches athletes ranging from HYROX competitors to middle schoolers preparing for their first sports season. He does not run “kids’ camps.” He runs training weeks that make kids stronger, faster, and more confident.

PARENT QUESTIONS

What are The Iron Fit Games?

It’s how the camp ends — a real race on Saturday, Aug 15 (9–11 AM). Every kid lines up individually and races everything they trained all week: sleds, rows, carries, sprints. Every kid crosses the finish line, earns a custom Iron Fit finisher patch, and gets a photo at the Iron Fit banner. Parents are invited — music, coffee, snacks.

Why only $99? What's the catch?

No catch. I priced it at $99 on purpose — low enough that no family in Stone Oak has to think twice, high enough that the kids who show up take it seriously. I’d rather fill the room with committed kids than squeeze a few families for more. The one thing I’ll add: if your kid loves it, you’ll get a shot at 50% off their first month of teen membership. That’s how I make the math work long-term. But the camp itself? Everything’s included in the $99.

How is this different from a regular sports camp?

Most camps babysit or drill one sport. This is coaching. Your kid gets a baseline test Day 1, five nights of real strength and conditioning work, and a retest on race day — so they *see* their progress with an actual number. And it’s owner-coached, not handed to interns.

What if my kid is out of shape or has never trained?

Perfect — that’s exactly who this is for. Every session is scaled to the kid in front of me. A first-timer and a kid who already plays sports both leave better. Nobody gets embarrassed, and nobody gets left behind.

What ages is the camp for — and why 11–14?

Ages 11–14, middle school. I tightened it to this band on purpose: it’s the age where a kid quietly decides whether they think they’re “athletic” or not, and it keeps the group close enough in size and maturity that every kid gets coached well and pushes each other. Older or younger by a bit? Text me and we’ll talk.

What are the dates and times?

Bootcamp is Monday Aug 10 – Friday Aug 14, one hour each evening. Two sessions: **5:00–6:00 PM** and **6:00–7:00 PM** (20 kids each). Then **The Iron Fit Games** is Saturday Aug 15, 9:00–11:00 AM. If both evening sessions fill, I’ll open a noon class.

How do tee sizes work?

The $20 Iron Fit camp tee is an optional add-on at checkout. If you add it, you’ll pick a size (youth and adult sizing options are listed). Questions on fit? Text me and I’ll help you dial it in before camp.

Tell me about the patch — is it a medal?

It’s better for this age. It’s a 3-inch embroidered, velcro-backed Iron Fit finisher patch — the kind kids actually keep and stick on a backpack or jacket. I hand it to every kid at the finish line. It’s not a participation trinket; it’s earned by finishing the race.

What if it rains on race day?

No problem. Our turf area is indoors, so The Iron Fit Games run rain or shine.

What's your refund policy?

Life happens — call or text me directly and we’ll work it out. Because spots are limited to 40 and I order a patch for every registered kid, please let me know as early as possible.

What if I have two kids of different ages?

If both are 11–14, sign them both up — you can put them in the same session or split them across 5 PM and 6 PM, your call. If one falls just outside the band, text me and we’ll figure out the right fit. I’d rather have the conversation than turn a family away.

How does the 50% off first month work?

If your kid catches the bug and wants to keep training, you get 50% off the first month of our Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday teen membership — that’s $74.50 for month one instead of $149. You just have to enroll within 7 days of camp ending. No pressure, no auto-sign-up; it’s there if you want it.

Where do I park on Saturday?

Use the main Iron Fit lot — pull in anytime after 8:30 AM on race day. If the lot’s full, there’s overflow street parking right out front. Come early, grab a coffee, and get a good spot to watch your kid finish.

How do I register?

Go to here, pick your session (5 PM or 6 PM), and pay the $99. It takes about two minutes. Only 40 spots — when it’s full, it’s full.
